Genesis Andrese Ryant, M.S.Ed.

Genesis Ryant is a passionate educator, scholar, and advocate with 13 years of experience across general and special education settings. She holds certifications in General Education, Special Education, and Literacy in New York and Connecticut. Genesis earned her B.A. in Communication Arts from The College of New Rochelle and an M.S.Ed. in Literacy (Reading Specialist) from Pace University.

Currently a special education case manager at a technical high school in Connecticut, she’s also pursuing a Ph.D. in Literacy Leadership at St. John’s University. Her work and research focus on designing inclusive, student‑centered instructional practices that empower diverse learners. Through RootED Vision Consulting Group, Genesis partners with schools to reimagine teaching and to build affirming environments where every learner can succeed.

Mislal Andom‑Lake, M.Ed.

Mislal Andom‑Lake brings over 18 years of K–12 experience as a classroom teacher, PPT chair, and special education case manager. A first‑generation Eritrean immigrant and former English Learner, she holds a B.S. in Business Administration, an M.Ed. in Special Education, and a 6th Year Educational Leadership certificate from UConn’s UCAPP. She is certified in Special Education, TESOL (K–12), Teaching Non‑English Speaking Adults, and Intermediate Administration.

Known for her relationship‑driven approach and high expectations, Mislal mentors aspiring educators and leads professional learning on culturally responsive teaching and student voice. Beyond the classroom, she volunteers with refugee and adult education programs, demonstrating her dedication to multilingual communities. At RootED, she leverages her lived experience and expertise to help schools cultivate inclusive cultures and strengthen equitable practices.
